Banana Soft Ice Creams

banana soft ice cream

It’s a scorcher! We’re breaking all kinds of weather records. Three figure temperatures. Perfect for a frozen treat.I’ve noticed that dairy ice cream doesn’t make my stomach feel so great these days although I never used to have a problem with a 2-scoop ice cream sundae. I’ve changed and the things I eat are going to have to change too. So bananas on the verge of compost have become a precious commodity. I compost the brown speckled skins and freeze the bananas for smoothies or my banana ice cream base. I can have a cool treat that won’t disrupt my digestive system or my hormonal balance. A couple of pulses of the blender or food processor and there’s a creamy dessert in my bowl faster than making ice cream at home or even zipping up to the store for some.

You can steer clear of hormonally disruptive white sugar in these ice creams because they are naturally sweetened by using the fruit sugars in bananas. Each flavor boasts an added super-ingredient. The peach ice cream has maca powder sprinkled in to help control estrogen levels and increase energy. Blueberry has cacao with it’s high antioxidants to decrease risk of disease by attacking free radicals. Mint has matcha a source of EGCG an antioxidant which helps to prevent disease and maybe even regulate metabolism to control weight. Strawberry has plant protein powder making a more nutritionally satisfying treat that may help you maintain and maybe even lose weight. If you try any of these versions or come up with one of your own, share it with the rest of the class on Instagram using #freshbalancenutrition. We all love ice cream!
